“No one knows who is the mother or the father of this third front. No one knows where is its tail. It is just an attempt by opportunist people,” Modi said, ridiculing the formation of the third front, while addressing a rally in favour of BJP candidate and actor Vinod Khanna in the border parliamentary seat of Gurdaspur.

Modi came down heavily on the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government too.

“The UPA is nothing but Unlimited PM Aspirants. Everybody in UPA wants to become the PM. No Congress leader is saying that Manmohan Singh is their choice for being the next Prime Minister. It is only the SRP (Sonia, Rahul, Priyanka) who are saying this.

The Gujarat chief minister said that the Congress candidate from Gurdaspur, Pratap Singh Bajwa, was involved in an infamous incident in Gujarat when he went for campaigning there a few years back.

“The details of the case are such that I cannot even speak about it in public,” Modi said.

Modi later addressed rallies in Hoshiarpur and Jalandhar seats for BJP-Akali Dal candidates.
