Table Ranganath Misra report in Parliament: Jagannath Mishra

Patna: Former Bihar Chief Minister Dr Jagannath Misra has demanded the UPA Government to table the Ranganath Misra Commission report in the ongoing winter session of the Parliament.

“Implementation of Ranganath Misra Commission recommendations can bring the minorities to mainstream development. Therefore, government should table it on the floor of Parliament” said Dr. Mishra while addressing a symposium to press government to put Ranganath Mishra Commission report on the table in parliament during this session. The program was organized at campus of Bihar Economic Studies Institute,Patna by Institute for Protection of Human Rights headed by Dr Mishra.

“From the view of Human Right, it is responsibility of government to take initiatives for the development of people of backward classes. The picture of socially and economically backwardness of Muslims which has been presented by Sachar Committee is very terrible which proves an unbalanced progress” he further said.

Dr. Naval Kishore Chaudhry, lecturer at Patna University said: “To provide protection to minorities is symbol of any cultured country. Gandhiji had said, ‘To be a cultured and progressed country depends on how it behaves with its minority population.”

Speaking on the occasion, IAS Gore Lal said: “Democracy means ratio representative ruling system. Hence, as per population representation of all communities in all departments is necessary to protect democracy system.

Maulana Shamshul Hoda said that it is responsibility of government to make sure representation of all deprived people.

“Reservation is easy solution for problems of Muslims and other backward communities. So government should grant them with 15% reservation in education and employment, of them 10% exclusively for Muslims as Ranganath Misra recommended” said I.A. Khan, lecturer at Patna University.

The program was also addressed by many other personalities including Professor Lallan Yadav, Ram Babu Ray, Dr. L.N. Jha, Dr. Moeenuddin and Krishn Kumar Thakur.
