Imran Khan, 25, and Mohamed Imran, 24, were arrested from south Delhi, following a tip-off from a source.

The two were passing lewd remarks on women in the Lal Quarter market of Krishna Nagar Tuesday when traders complained about them to police. They opened fire when stopped by head constable Mahender Narain.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (south Delhi) H.G.S. Dhaliwal, one of them pulled out his pistol and fired on Narain and traders standing there. Narain also pulled out his service weapon and fired two rounds in retaliation. One man was hit on his left thigh during the exchange of fire.

“After running for about 700-800 m, they robbed a Kinetic Honda scooter from S. Amarjeet at gunpoint and escaped,” he said.
