Punjab to get two multi-super speciality hospitals

Mohali (Punjab) : Under the public-private partnership (PPP), Punjab will get its first multi-super speciality hospitals inside the premises of civil hospitals here and Bathinda by 2011.

The ground breaking ceremony of these hospitals, to be built by Max Healthcare and the Punjab government, was done here Sunday.

“This initiative has brought us a step closer to our vision of providing access to world-class infrastructure, quality healthcare and super-specialized treatment for critical illnesses to the people of Punjab,” said Max India group chairman Analjit Singh.

Each hospital will have 200 beds and built on an investment of Rs.200 crore.

“Both facilities are expected to commence operations by Aug 2011. In Mohali, it will be built over 3.15 acres whereas in Bathinda, it will cover over 4.8 acres,” Singh said.

“The land belongs to the state government, while infrastructure and equipment-related support will be provided by us.”

Bathinda is about 150 km from here.
