Chandigarh: Asia’s first ‘Dining In The Sky’ (DITS) that was launched in this union territory (UT) Nov 24, on the occasion of Chandigarh Crafts Mela, got into trouble Tuesday after a dispute erupted between the main local organisers and service providers at the venue.
Owing to the dispute, the operation of DITS remained closed for few hours here Tuesday.
“There was an internal dispute between Commando caterers, who had brought this concept to India in association with a Belgium based company DITS, and the service providers at the Kalagram,” an official spokesman said, adding that now the misunderstanding has been cleared and the issue has been resolved.
This is the first edition of Chandigarh Crafts Mela – organised on the lines of Haryana’s famous Surajkund Mela – at Kalagram, the cultural hub of this city.
According to the spokesman, so far, more than 150,000 visitors have visited this crafts mela in the last four days.
