Bhubaneswar: Three people died when they inhaled some toxic gas while cleaning a well in Orissa’s Ganjam district Saturday, police said.
The deaths occurred in Badapada village in Bhanjanagar area of the district, 160 km from Bhubaneswar.
The dead included two brothers and a labourer from the village, local police official Ashok Panda said.
A fire brigade official who tried to rescue them was also affected by the gas and has been hospitalised.
The bodies have been recovered from the well and sent for post-mortem examination, Panda said.
