Dubai to host Malaysian services fair

Dubai: Dubai will host the third Malaysia Services Exhibition (MSE 2010) at the Dubai International Conventions and Exhibitions Centre (DICEC) April 12-15.

Over 150 establishments would attend the event which would focus specifically on eight service areas – professional services, oil and gas; construction; information and communications technology (ICT); healthcare; franchising; education and specialised training and financial services.

The three-day exhibition at the Zabeel Hall of DICEC is being organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).

Announcing the details of the event at a Monday, Dato Yahya Abdul Jabar, the Malaysian ambassador to the UAE, said MSE 2010 is part of Malaysia’s ongoing initiative to showcase the role and success of its services sector in overseas projects, especially in the UAE and other promising markets in West Asia.

“The UAE is Malaysia’s largest trading partner in West Asia, accounting for 42.1 percent of the total trade with the region. In 2009 total trade between Malaysia and UAE amounted to $4.7 billion,” he said.
