Patna: Muslim candidates have made a splendid performance in Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) competitive examinations 2010. Of 362 successful candidates 37 are Muslims, that is about 10.22%. This is far greater show by them compared to the last year results where only 4 were Muslims. Total 893 students who succeeded in Main examination had appeared in the interview held from 15 to 23 March. The result was announced yesterday.
The performance of Muslim students in BPSC which is highest level examination in the state is more than satisfactory and this will indeed encourage those Muslim students who are planning to appear in this exam in the future. Below is the category-wise performance of Muslim candidates in the state’s top services exam 2010.
There are 12 Muslims among 164 who succeeded in Bihar Administrative Services. They are: Mohammad Ishtiyaq Ajmal, Mohammad Mustaqeem, Mohammad Shafeeq, Mohammad Mustaqeem, Mohaamad Irfan Alam, Ishtiyaq Alam Ansari, Ehsan Ahmad, Iftikhar Ahmad, Mohammad Ziyaurrahman, Mohammad Manzoor Alam, Mohammad Sibghatullah and Mohammad Zafar Hussain.
While in Bihar Police Services there are 8 Muslims out of 40 successful candidates. They are Mohammad Aftab Alam, Noorul Haq, Shaharyar Akhter, Shamsh Afroz, Nisar Ahmad Shah, Mohammad Shahban Habib Fakhri, Anwar Javed Ansari, and Mohammad Tanweer Ahmad.
In the list of 27 successful candidates for Commercial Tax Officers there are five Muslims: S.M Irshad Arif. Majid Ahmad, Amir Nayyer, Asadullah Ghalib Ansari and Mukhtar Akram.
There are 8 Muslims among 41 students who got success for Additional Electoral Officers. They are Suhail Ahmad, Muneer Shaikh, Mohammad Ghazali, Javed Iqbal, Mohammad Nazrul Haq, Sarfraz Nawaz, Mohammad Ashraf Afroz, and Parveen Jahan.
Among 19 who have been selected for Labour Superintendents, Muslim representation is in the form of Mohammad Aftab Alam and Javed Rahmat.
Mohammad Sattar Ansari is only one among 12 who have been selected for Excise Inspectors.
Similarly, Asghar Alam Khan is lone Muslim among 19 candidates who have been selected for Bihar Education Services.
