This is a two-day progamme to be held on August 10 & 11, 2010 from 09.00 AM to 02.00 PM on the University campus. The aim of the programme is to encourage the members of the university community to donate old and unused books to those in the neighbourhood who are unable to afford them. The objective is to generate a spirit of volunteerism as also to empower others.

As part of the initiative, the student volunteers would set up three stalls at the main gates of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, the Main University Campus, and the Jamia School. These collection centres would collect books as also keep a record of those who need books. Finally, these books would be distributed among those who need them. Some books will also be donated to community libraries around Jamia Millia Islamia.
