IAS topper Shah Faisal visits Jamia to inspire students

New Delhi: The Centre for Coaching and Career Planning, Jamia Millia Islamia organized an Interactive Session with IAS Topper for 2009, Dr Shah Faisal on 10th August facilitating its students to interact with the IAS topper and hear a first-hand account of his success story.

Dr Shah Faisal, aged 26, topped the Civil Services Examination 2009 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. He hails from Kashmir and this was Dr Faisal’s first attempt success. Prior to this, he had pursued medicine and had also topped Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences. Dr Faisal’s story is truly inspiring since he comes from a remote village in Kupwara district of Kashmir and studied in a village school.



The interaction was held in the FTK-Centre for Information Technology, Jamia Millia. A large number of students came to listen to him and had a lot of questions for him. The interaction was in the form of an open Question-Answer session. He tried to inspire the young minds to pursue a career in the Indian Administrative Services.

In his address, Dr. Shah Faisal expressed his happiness at being in Jamia Millia Islamia and said that his first priority will be to reduce the gap between the administration and the people it
represents.
