Kolkata: Railway Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee Saturday termed West Bengal’s Left Front rule as a military dictatorship, saying that if the centre did not look into the matter, she will fight it alone.

“Law and order does not prevail in West Bengal. The Left rule has turned into a military rule. This dictatorship cannot be accepted,” Mamata Banerjee said while addressing media persons in Kolkata.

She alleged that around 55,000 people had been killed during the Left rule in the state and around 2,000 TMC party workers were killed in the past year alone.

“Being an ally of the UPA-II (United Progressive Alliance) government, we feel it is our duty to inform the central government about the situation. We have given six volumes of detailed report about the anarchy going on in the state,” she said.

“I have informed Pranab Mukherjee about the matter… I have requested him to look into the matter. We will fight the misrule of the Left Front alone… we are not afraid of them. Earlier during Singur and Nandigram we have fought against them alone,” said Banerjee
