Agra : Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and a 50-member delegation accompanying him visited the Taj Mahal here Wednesday afternoon and left for Mumbai.
“He has just left from Kheria airport in his special plane. The arrival was delayed because of poor visibility,” senior district official Alok Shekhar told IANS.
The Russian president spent around 90 minutes at the 17th century monument to love. District and Archaeological Survey of India officials accompanied the VVIPs. The monument remained closed for general public for three hours.
Medvedev arrived in New Delhi early Tuesday morning on a three-day visit to India. India and Russia Tuesday inked 29 bilateral agreements, which include building advanced stealth jet fighters to increasing banking linkages and setting up a steel plant.
