“We received information from the office of the district magistrate that a man was roaming around in the area in a car with red beacon light. We held him near Pari Chowk,” Superintendent of Police (Greater Noida) Surendra Verma said.

“The man, Rajveer Singh, claimed that he was the chairman of a state government agency – UP Rajya Nirman and Development Cooperative Society. He claimed that his rank was equivalent to that of a state minister and he was entitled to all the privileges that a state minister enjoys,” Verma added.

“He said he was entitled to using a red beacon light on his car. When we found out about this organisation, it was found to be fake,” he said.

District Magistrate Deepak Agarwal said: “We received a complaint that a man was roaming around freely in a car with a red beacon light. He used his influence to get his work done. The information was passed to police and I have asked them to take strict action.”
