Gandhinagar: Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi made a flying visit to Gujarat Friday to address the concluding session of a two-day leadership training camp for Youth Congress activists.

During his address, he is reported to have advised the youth workers of the party to interact with the people at the grassroots level and take up their problems. “It is only with interaction and involvement that one can win the minds and hearts of the people,” he said.

Gandhi is reported to have accorded high priority to Gujarat in rebuilding the Youth Congress. With the faction-ridden party state unit in the shambles and unable to take on the Narendra Modi led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Gandhi is working on reviving the youth wing as an alternative to revive the party’s fortunes in the state.

Gandhi’s visit remained a low key affair and the media was not allowed to cover the camp or his speech.
