Watching R-Day parade from PM’s box was great: Farha, Kirmani

New Delhi: For Farha Ahmed and Ahmed Rasa Kirmani, post-graduate students of Aligarh Muslim University, watching the Republic Day parade from Prime Minister’s box in New Delhi on 26th January was a wonderful experience. They felt patriotic when India’s military strength was put on exhibition for the world to see.

Farha (MA (previous), psychology) and Kirmani (M.Sc. (previous), physics) were among the 100 brilliant and lucky students selected from across the country to watch the great event in the country. After the parade they talked to TwoCircles.net on the parade, their future India and their own future.



What did you feel when you watched the parade from PM’s box?

Farha Ahmed: It was definitely a wonderful experience. I was among few lucky people who got to witness one of the finest events of the nation. We got to see different tableaus represented by a number of states.



Ahmed Rasa Kirmani: It was a great event and I felt patriotic. I was given this opportunity by the grace of Allah. I was among those hundred lucky students selected to watch the event from Prime Minister’s box.

What kind of India do you want to see in future?

Farha Ahmed: Whatever knowledge we gain we should apply that knowledge at personal level in a way that we can contribute our own bid to the nation’s development. Then it would definitely move the country towards progress.

Ahmed Rasa Kirmani: From the point of view of science and technology, I want my country to be strong in science and technology and specially in basic sciences.

What requires for India to become a great nation and strong internally?

Farha Ahmed: Firstly, moral integrity. Secondly, the values which have helped us to develop to the present should be retained while adopting a blend of tradition and modernism.



Ahmed Rasa Kirmani: What is required is a complete rebellion in the field of science and technology.

What do you want to become in future?

Farha Ahmed: I aspire to be a child psychologist.

Ahmed Rasa Kirmani: I want to be a physicist Insha Allah.
