Shimla : After fresh snow and rain Friday, Himachal Pradesh Saturday recorded a dip in temperatures with Keylong being the coldest at minus 10.4 degrees Celsius.
“Temperatures across the state plummeted this (Saturday) morning due to rain and snow yesterday (Friday),” said Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here.
He said higher reaches in Lahaul and Spiti, Kinnaur, Kullu and Chamba districts reeled under sub-zero temperatures.
Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti recorded a fall of 3.6 degrees in night temperature from Friday’s minus 6.8 degrees Celsius.
Similarly, Kalpa in Kinnaur district recorded a low of minus 5.6 degrees against Friday’s minus 3 degrees Celsius.
The state capital, which saw thundershowers Friday, recorded the night temperature at 3.2 degrees, a fall of 2.1 degrees.
Sundernagar in Mandi district recorded a low of 3.3 degrees, while it was 5.1 degrees in Dharamsala and 1 degree Celsius in Bhuntar in Kullu district.
The met department has predicted rain and snow in the state Sunday.
