“Maintain your Islamic identity” says E.Ahmed

Chennai: Muslim Students’ Federation (MSF) third conference was inaugurated by Hon. State Railway Minister Mr.E.Ahmed at Quade-Millath-Manimandapam in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Sunday 31 January 2010. Muslim Students from Kerela and Puducherry attended the conference in great numbers. Among the distinguished guests who participated were Prof.Khader Moideen, former Member of Parliament, and General Secretary of Indian Union Muslim League, Mr.K.M.A. Aboobacker.

Mr.Ahmed stated,” I am pleased and happy to be with you in this great organization which has a goal and great purpose of unity and a desire for prosperity”. He cited the saying of Jawaharlal Nehru” Unity in Diversity”. He asked the students to inculcate a great values and understanding for plural, diverse and distinctive cultural societies in secular, democratic India and at the same time “You must preserve your Islamic identity and if you fail to do, you cease to be a Muslim”. He praised the Muslims who conducted themselves for peace and tranquility for the Nation. “It is the matter of pride that C.M. Mohammad Koya was the first Muslim Chief Minister in India”



Prof. Khader Mohideen extolling the virtues of education said, “Education will fill life with optimism and Peace and tolerance are means in Islamic way of life. Islam stands foremost for Universal Brotherhood, Unity and Integration”, and if these qualities are adhered, he felt that all needs and problems would be resolved. He said that the Muslims live in a pluralistic society and the students should feel the responsibility and need for peace and amity which are prime important factors for the Nation.

Among those who spoke were K.M.A. Aboobacker Gen.Sec. IUML Tamil Nadu, P.K. Firose, President MSF Kerela State, and Advocate Onampilli Muhammed Faizy.
