“According to clause 3 of this act, the local administration will have the right to forcibly act against Madrasas which are imparting education to the children aged between 6-14. It clearly indicates that the government is trying to penetrate into madras system through the backdoor,” said Niaz Ahmed Farooqui, JUH Media Secretary.

The Jamiat has also decided to convene a meeting of Muslim organizations for deliberating upon the negative effects of this act. The group will build pressure against the government for the protection of right of Minority institutions enshrined in the article 30 of the Indian constitution.

In the Working Committee meeting, JUH president Maualna Qari Syed Usman was elected as the president of Jamiat for next term (2010-2011). All the states units of Jamiat have recommended his names for this post. Therefore the working committee declared him twice as Jamiat President, Farooqui said.

Besides RTE, the working committee also deliberated upon membership drive of JUH currently underway throughout the country. “Till now Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind has enrolled one crore thirty five thousands persons as its primary members in 18 states,” Farooqui added.

The Jamiat also decided that if its demands like reservation for Muslims and anti-violence bill are not passed within six months as promised by UPA Chairperson Miss Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, then Jamiat would re-launch its nationwide movements against the government.

Jamit also condemned Israel aggression against Palestinians in Ghaza and decided to launch joint agitation of Muslim organizations against Israel.
