Rains cool Delhi

New Delhi : It rained in parts of the national capital Monday morning, cooling the city and bringing some respite from the muggy weather. The weather office said more showers were expected.

“Skies will remain partly cloudy with the possibility of one or two spells of rainfall. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 37 degrees Celsius,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

Delhi received 9.2 mm of rainfall till 8.30 a.m. Monday. The capital has so far received 128.7 mm of rain, four percent more than the average.

The minimum temperature settled at 28.7 degrees Celsius, two notches above the normal. Humidity was recorded at 62 percent.
