Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh minister Nand Gopal Gupta alias Nandi, who is undergoing treatment in hospital for injuries he received during a bomb blast outside his residence in Allahabad, has offered to resign, sources said Thursday.
Minister for Finance (Stamps and Registrations) Gupta is being treated at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) here and is still on a life support system.
He expressed a wish to resign from the ministerial post Thursday night, the sources said.
It is still be to ascertained as to why Gupta wished to resign. However, some believe it could be due to his ill-health.
Gupta was critically injured July 12 in a bomb blast targeting him.
After being treated at a private hospital in Allahabad for a brief period, he was airlifted to SGPGIMS for treatment of his burn and other injuries.
