Shimla : Power tariff for both domestic and commercial consumers would be increased in Himachal Pradesh, it was announced Thursday.
The revised rates will come into effect Friday.
However, families belonging to below poverty line (BPL) category and small and medium industries would be exempted.
“The Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission Thursday announced 30 paise per unit increase in the cost of power tariff for domestic consumers in the state. However, the tariff for BPL family has not been increased,” an official statement said here.
“The tariff for large industry has been hiked by 55 paise per unit,” said the statement.
