Demonstration against harassment of women in Mumbai

Mumbai: To register their protest against harassment and humiliation of women by mischief mongers in the city, the youth wing of Movement for Human Welfare (MHW) organized a signature campaign and demonstration at Mumbai’s Andheri railway station on 28th June.

Notably, during the last few days some anti-social elements have been busy in harassment of pedestrian women in Mumbai specially at and around the Andheri railway station.

Condemning this shameful act Saad Azim, president MHW Youth Wing, said: The objective of the protest and public campaign is to ensure genuine security for the women folk in the city by the law enforcement agencies and to create awareness among commoners that women exclusively must be treated well at all places.”

The demonstration was organized between 2 pm to 6 pm which was attended by the members of Youth Wing, Ladies Wing and Executive Committee of MHW. On the occasion, signatures from youth specially girls favoring the move were collected that would be submitted with a memorandum to the Police and BMC Commissioners of Mumbai demanding adequate action against the stray youths and safety of the girls in Mumbai.
