PFI’s Jaipur rally for early implementation of Mishra Commission Report

Jaipur: Assembled from all over Rajasthan, thousands of Muslims demanded action on Justice Rangnath Mishra Commission’s recommendation for reserving 10% seats in government services and educational institutions, in a rally from Musafir Khana turned into public meeting at karbala ground of the state capital.

Speaking on this occasion, chief guest Sahara Urdu group editor Aziz Burney pointed out that it would be contrary to the spirit of Constitution of India to deprive Muslims from the rightful opportunity of development and progress. He further commented that the blame game of the partition and terrorism on Muslims has been exposed recently and people of India now know well that it is the Hindu fascist organizations behind such events.



KM Shareef, national general secretary of Popular Front of India, which organized the rally at Jaipur as a part of its National Campaign for Muslim Reservation, elaborated upon objectives of the campaign and put forward extensive data illustrating perpetuated backwardness of the community and said it would be a just and sane approach to bring out Muslims from their present morass. The president of All India Imam Council Usman Begh highlighted the significance for any nation making its people free of fear and hunger and emphasized that Muslims can create a way for their progress and dignified life in the country by constitutional and peaceful means provided they stand determined and bold on the chosen path.

At the beginning of the public meeting the State President of the Front Hafiz Hanif welcomed the guests and thanked the participants for their support to the campaign. The meeting was also addressed by professor Arshi Khan of Aligarh Muslim University, Bhai Tej Singh, National President of Ambedkar Samaj Party, Abdul Rashid Agwan, Convener Delhi State Unit of All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat, State Convener of All India Milli Council Hasan Ghori, State President of Social Democratic Party of India Hafiz Manzoor Ali Khan and Dr Indraraj Singh, State President Meghwal Mahasbha.

The State Secretary of Popular Front of India Mohammad Shafi presented the memorandum to be seconded by the audience, which was later on submitted to the Governor of Rajasthan for its forwarding to the Prime Minister of India for consideration. It should be noted that the campaign began in the state at Baran on 14th February and several meetings and rallies were organized in different parts of the province since then.

This is part of a nationwide campaign by Popular Front of India for demanding Muslim reservation, it will culminate in a rally in Delhi on March 18th.
