Chennai: Annamalai University, closed last week due to student unrest, will reopen Thursday, the university announced Monday.
According to the university based in Chidambaram in Tamil Nadu, classes (all years) for arts, science, Indian languages, education, fine arts, agriculture will resume Thursday.
Similarly classes for final year engineering, Masters in engineering/computer science, M.Sc (engineering – normal and integrated), D.Pharm, B.Pharm and M.Pharm will also resume.
Classes for first year engineering will resume March 17.
The university suspended its classes and asked the students to vacate the hostels last week due to violence after “accidental” death of four students from Bihar and Jharkhand.
According to the university notification, the resumption of classes for second and third year engineering courses will be announced later.
