Madhubani (Bihar): On the soil of Laharia Ganj, the first shift of a 2 -day conference of Aalmi Imam Ahmed Raza was organized under the supervision of Sunni Jamiat-e-Ulema Madhubani, particularly for women. In this conference a large number of women from various parts of the country participated, and the programme was presided by Syeda Razia Sultana (Darbhangvi).
Among the speakers the prominent figures were Mrs. Salma Nuri Rizvi, Principal Jamia Nizamia Saleha, Mumbai, and Mrs. Ghazala Bareilvi, (Bangalore), Firoza Khatoon, Sheerin Fatima and Tarbiah Khatoon. Addressing to the gathering on this occasion Mrs. Salma Nuri said to all women attending the programme, “You are the best of all the communities on the earth because you preach virtues and check evils. With the same passion, I came here from Mumbai to aware our sisters about the realities of Islam and to acquaint the sisters about the evils which have taken birth in them.”
She said during her lecture that veil (Pardah) checks immodesty, saves chastity. The women living far from villages do not pay attention to using veils. Village women are innocent and better than city women because they save their modesty by using veils; city women are needed to keep themselves in veils and it is possible only the moment they will come to know about the significance of Pardah. She emphasized the care of Islam towards women saying that Islam does not stop a woman in having their shares in work. They can have shares in work within the limitations of pardah
