Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda Friday started the distribution of biometric cards to the pensioners in the state’s Karnal district.

“Besides Karnal, this scheme has been launched on pilot basis in districts of Panchkula, Kurukshetra, Rohtak and Hisar. Later other districts would also be covered under this scheme,” the official spokesperson of the Haryana government said.

“Biometric system is being used for identification of beneficiaries in which their finger-prints of both hands would be taken so that transparency could be ensured,” the official added.
