Kashmir ministers’ salaries to go up

Jammu : The Jammu and Kashmir government Friday introduced a bill in the state assembly to enhance the salaries of ministers and legislators.

Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Sagar introduced the bill.

The salary of the chief minister would go up from Rs.25,000 to Rs.40,000 a month while that of ministers would be increased from Rs.20,000 to Rs.35,000 per month .

The salary of ministers of state and deputy ministers will go up from Rs.20,000 to Rs.30,000.

The state has 22 ministers including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. There are 120 legislators — 89 in the assembly and 31 in the legislative council.
