Night passenger trains suspended in West Bengal’s Maoist areas

Kolkata : The railways have decided to suspend passenger trains on Kharagpur-Rourkela and Kharagpur-Adra sections between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. in view of the derailment of the Gyaneswari Express Friday.

As a result, 2021/2022 Howrah-Barbil Jan Shatabdi Express, 2871/2872 Howrah-Titlagarh Ispat Express, 2813/2814 Howrah-Tata Steel Express, 315/316 Howrah-Adra-Chakradharpur Passenger and 8003/8004 Jhargram-Purulia Bi-Weekly Express will remain suspended Saturday, a South Eastern Railway statement said.

Several express trains have been rescheduled. The Howrah-Mumbai Mail via Nagpur will leave Howrah at 5 a.m. Saturday instead of 8.15 p.m. Friday.

The 2834 Howrah-Ahmedabad Express will leave Howrah at 6.55 a.m. Saturday instead of 11.55 p.m. Friday and will run via Kharagpur-Adra-Chandil-Chakradharpur route (bypassing Jamshedpur).
