New Delhi : Thousands of passengers on Delhi Metro’s Jehangirpuri-Gurgaon stretch were stranded Friday night as services were disrupted after a train got stuck at Udyog Bhavan station due to a technical snag, an official said.
According to the Metro official: “The train going towards Gurgaon got stuck at Udyog Bhavan station at around 7 p.m due to a technical fault in the overhead electric line. Engineers are working on it and it is not yet rectified.”
“The train could not move out of the station due to this, following which operations on the line were halted and two other trains which were following were also stuck,” the official said.
Services were, however, normal on the Gurgaon-Jehangirpuri stretch.
According to passengers, the Metro train developed a technical problem and had stopped in the tunnel around 7 p.m.
Passengers inside the train said that the air conditioning went off for a brief while and there was also power disruption for a few minutes, but both were again functioning.
