Lucknow : An 80-year-old woman was assaulted and raped by a young man in Uttar Pradesh’s Sonbhadra district, police said Monday. The 27-year-old rapist was arrested Monday.
The woman, a native of Dilwari village, over 250 km from Lucknow, was raped Sunday night by Shyamlal, who also lives in the same village, police inspector P.P. Singh told reporters.
Shyamlal was arrested Monday morning from a hideout in the village, police said. The man has confessed to the crime.
