Syed Waseem Akhter awarded Aligarh Movement Award 2010

Aligarh: Eminent educationist and Vice- Chancellor of the renowned Integral University, Lucknow, Syed Waseem Akhter has been awarded with Aligarh Movement Award 2010 by Aligarh Movement, an Aligarh based bilingual magazine.

The award is being bestowed upon him in recognition of his distinguished services in the field of Minority Education.

Mr. Akhtar is a former Research fellow of Hamdard Educational Society, New Delhi and has earlier worked in Libya and Saudi Arabia.

The Award will be presented to Mr. Syed Waseem Akhter in a glittering function on 30th October, 2010. Renowned film director and humanist Mahesh Bhatt and former Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University Mr. Naseem Ahmad (IAS) are expected to grace the occasion.

The jury comprised of Prof. Razaullah Khan (in the chair), Prof. Syed Iqbal Ali, Mr. Firoz Bakht Ahmad, Dr. Mohammad Shahid, Mr. Nusrat Jamal Ansari and Jasim Mohammad (Secretary) unanimously decided to confer the award on Syed Waseem Akhter in a meeting held in Aligarh on 10th October, 2010.

The Aligarh Movement bilingual magazine is an RNI registered Aligarh based publication which focuses on current and development issues concerning weaker sections and minorities.
