First Hajj flight from Kerala on 21; Hajj Camp begins

Kozhikode: The first Hajj flight of the year from Kerala will take off from Karippur Airport on October 21. The Hajj Camp began yesterday at the Hajj House near the Airport. A Hajj Cell also has begun functioning yesterday to facilitate the procedures such as arranging the travel documents. More than 8500 pilgrims are expected to leave for Saudi for the Hajj from Kerala.

The first Hajj flight will take off on Wednesday at 12 noon. The Hajj flights from Karippur will carry pilgrims from Lakshadweep and Mahe also, besides those from Kerala. The Hajj flights are operated by the Saudi-based Nas Airways and will be there till November 3. The pilgrims are directed to reach the Hajj House one day before their scheduled date of travel.

The passports of the pilgrims with the visas stamped have reportedly reached the state a few days ago. Officials are checking those passports sent from the Central Hajj Committee and arranging the travel documents.
