Seminar on role of students in society reformation held at AMU

Aligarh: With the purpose to remind students their responsibility towards reformation of society, Students Association for Islamic Ideology (SAII) organized a seminar on ‘Role of Students and Youths in Making of Society’ on 24th Oct. at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

In his welcome speech Md Tarique, Convener of SAII, briefly talked about the need of organizations like SAII in the present scenario of Indian Subcontinent.

Addressing the seminar, Maulana Abdul Wahab Khilji, Member of AMU Court, spoke in length on the importance of youths and their roles in the making of society and nation. He told students to be firm on belief of Oneness, the Hereafter & Prophets. “Society will reform only when virtuous students, elders and women will work hardly for that with full concentration” he added.

In his speech, Dr. Abdul Majid Khan, Lecturer at Department of Islamic Studies of AMU, emphasized to adopt Islamic culture and avoid Western culture. He urged the students to stand up to counter the Western culture. “Students should remain aware about the conspiracies of Western culture and should prepare concrete agenda against this culture” he said.

Speaking at the seminar, Maulana Fareeduddin Qasmi, Professor of Hadith at Darul Uloom Waqf, Deoband, referred to the verse of Quran and advised those students who are preaching and propagating Islam to build the quality of patience and steadfastness.
