The Universities with excellence only can contribute in the construction of knowledge based economy. So, aiming at excellence becomes a social imperative of every university. The global competitiveness and the local relevance are increasingly driven by the excellence.
According to Prof. Prasad, the excellence is mostly determined by four clusters of factors which may be characterized as four pillars of university excellence which includes, competent staff and motivated students; relevant programmes and appropriate teaching, learning, and evaluation systems; good Infrastructure; effective governance system.
