Jammu: On the occasion of Eid, Master Sohan Lal Social Reforms Charitable Trust today organised an Eid Milan programme at Raipur here and distributed sweets to the Muslims brethren after Eid prayers. A large no of people attended this function.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of the Trust Shakti Dutt Sharma said that unity and brotherhood is a need of the hour. Some forces are trying to tarnish the social fabric of brotherhood and unity in Jammu, he added.
He further said that Muslim brethren greet Hindus on their religious functions warmly and it’s our duty that we too greet them on their pious festival and we had organised this Eid Milan programme for our Muslims brethrens. Shakti said no one should disturb this unity and brotherhood of Jammu people as we stand still united.
Nazir Ahmed, a local social activist, said its great honour for us that first time in this area our Hindu brethren had organised a greeting programme for our community on Eid festival. We will try our best that the unity and brotherhood remains intact, as earlier we were living unitedly and participate in each others religious and festival functions.
Those who attended the function include senior BJP leader Chander Mohan Sharma, Sunil Dutt (Raka), Ashwani, Rohit Shastri Rinku, Radhakrishan, Naib Sarpanch Sukhnandan, Randeep Singh, Ghulam Rasool, Sadiq and Daljeet Singh.
