Quake hits Japan

Tokyo : An undersea earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale Thursday struck off the eastern coast of Japan’s Honshu island. There was no immediate report of damage or casualty.

The quake occurred around 10.50 a.m. and the epicentre was at a depth of 3.70 km, the US Geological Survey said.

The Honshu island, Japan’s largest island, is about 600 km northeast of Tokyo.

There was no tsunami, Xinhua reported.
