New Delhi : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) faced shortage of staff but was effectively using its workforce to ensure speedy investigation of various cases, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions V. Narayanasamy said Thursday.
Replying to a question in the Rajya Sabha, the minister said that 5,361 posts were filled as of Aug 1, 2011, against the sanctioned strength of 6,565.
“The occurrence and filling up of vacancies is a continuous process. Despite some vacancies, speedy investigation is ensured through effective use and deployment of existing personnel,” he said.
