Bhubaneswar : Support intensified for social activist Anna Hazare in Orissa with people from different walks of life Thursday continuing with demonstrations, marches and rallies.
While lawyers, students, journalists, businessman, former bureaucrats and judges staged demonstrations near the state assembly, hundreds of Communist Party of India (CPI) activists separately took out a rally in the city.
Demanding the inclusion of prime minister under the purview of Lokpal, party members shouted slogans against the central government and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Similar protests were organised in other parts of the state. While lawyers boycotted courts, students skipped classes at several places.
At some places, traders shut down their shops and women organised candlelight marches.
