New Delhi : Home Minister P. Chidambaram submitted a report on the situation over Anna Hazare’s fast for a strong Lokpal bill to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Wednesday, ahead of an all party meeting on the issue scheduled for the afternoon.
Sources said the report on the current situation was given to the prime minister in the morning. However, they declined to divulge the contents of the report.
The all party meeting is scheduled for 3.30 p.m. Wednesday. According to sources, a final decision would be taken after this meeting as opposition parties had pointed out that the government had taken all decisions on its own without consulting them.
Many of the demands of Team Anna, which is insisting on its version of the Lokpal bill, have been met, sources said, adding that talks continued.
Hazare’s fast entered day nine Wednesday and the condition of the 74-year-old is deteriorating.
