Mumbai: Saqib Ahmed of Bangalore pulled way ahead of the field with another fine round of even par 70 at the end of the third round of the Toyota IGU Western India Juniors Golf Championship at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club here Thursday.
Saqib, who shot 69 on the first day and 70 on the second, is now one-under 209 for three days and nine clear of second-placed Aman Raj (75-71-72).
Manu Gandas (73, 75, 72) and Vashistha Pawar (76, 72, 72) are tied third at 220. Piyush Sangwan joined young Viraj Madappa in Category B to lead at 216 while Prabhakar Asawa (68) was third at 219.
Karandeep Kochar (78, 81, 71) is leading in group C, while Jaiveer Singh and Arjun Prasad are tied 237. Aadil Bedi continued to lead Category D with rounds of 74 and 78 followed by Harshjeet Sethi (76-82).
