A delighted Prof. Azis congratulated AMU Coordination Committee members and appreciated the group’s effort for working as a coordinator (mediator) between the AMU and Bihar Government. Bihar HRD Minister P.K. Shahi who is continuously in touch with AMU activist group for past one month was equally elated over the response of AMU Vice Chancellor. The AMUCC core team had shared the good news of Vice Chancellor’s approval over phone with Shahi well before the official letter was sent to Bihar Chief Minister and Principal Secretary Anjani Kumar Singh.

The letter dated 5th Dec. of AMU VC addressed to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar says “We are most delighted to receive the 224.02 acres of land in the Chakla Village of Kishanganj in accordance with the requirement stipulated by the University. We would like to receive the land before the end of December 2011. I convey our heartfelt gratefulness to your goodself and the entire Govt of Bihar for generously supporting the endeavour of AMU to establish one of its centres in Bihar. With this decision, the Govt of Bihar had displayed its vision to create an educational institution of excellence in one of the most backward regions of Bihar. The AMU feels greatly honoured for having got this opportunity to serve the people of Bihar and adjoining regions and be a partner in your vision to create a new and vibrant Bihar.”

The AMU Vice Chancellor shared many crucial points related to agreement and way ahead for the proposed AMU Special Centre in Kishanganj. Prof Azis is highly enthusiastic about visiting Kishanganj to sign the agreement with Bihar Government’s representative DM Kishanganj by the end of December.

However, Prof. Azis has shown willingness to see the Bihar CM, HRD Ministers, other key members of Bihar Government, local leaders, educationists, activists and AMU activist groups. Of course, the reason behind the willingness of AMU VC to see the top brass of Bihar Government in Kishanganj is to end the 3-year-long deadlock by leaving a positive message to masses.

AMU Coordination Committee members with VC Prof. Azis

Bihar Government has fulfilled the demand of AMU Vice Chancellor by offering 224.02 acres land on December 3, 2011. It should be noted the Delhi based AMUCC, which was formed one and half year ago has played a crucial role in bridging the gap between Bihar Government and AMU Vice Chancellor. Especially after the meeting of AMUCC with Bihar HRD Minister P K Shahi on November 3, 2011, the Government of Bihar resolved the land issue on a fast track.
