It should be noted here that the proposed AMU Centre at Kishanganj was getting delayed due to land issue. Bihar Government had, earlier, offered the land for the centre in three pieces which was rejected by AMU and demanded land in one piece. After that, the matter was put under carpet and a blame game between the State and Union Governments started on the issue. However, the local people and organizations under the leadership of local political leaders took the issue on road and launched movement for the AMU campus. They organized several rallies in Kishanganj, Patna and Delhi and even ‘rail roko andolon’ in Kishanganj to pressurize the government.

However, on December 3, 2011, Bihar Government fulfilled the demand of AMU VC by offering 224.02 acres land in the Chakla Village of Kishanganj. AMU VC accepted the land and shot off a letter to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and expressed desire to receive the land before the end of December 2011.

Besides VC PK Abdul Azis, the delegation includes Registrar, VK Abdul Jalil, Finance Officer, Yasmeen Jalal, Professor Ekram, Professor NK Durrani and Professor Javed Akhter.
