Coimbatore: In a good move to stand against the dowry-takers and save the society from the evil effect of the dowry, a Masjid committee of Tamil Nadu village has announced to boycott the marriages in which dowry is exchanged.
The evil of dowry is known to all but when time comes people slip and get indulged in the act, some openly, some secretly. Therefore, the trend of dowry is rising in the society with each passing day.
In such circumstances the step adopted by the committee of Dhakni Ahle Sunnath Jamath Masjid, Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu is really appreciable.
The committee has passed resolution on 6th Feb. that the Masjid would not conduct any marriage in which dowry is involved and it would also not issue NOC (No Objection Certificate) to the grooms who will get the dowry.
