Chennai: Tamilnadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) denounced the mock drills against terrorists, conducted by Tamil Nadu Police recently. In these drills conducted at Dindigul and Erode districts, the terrorists who were spotting beards, were apparently portrayed as Muslims.
In the Chief Executive Council meeting of TMMK on January 5th, it was decided that TMMK will write a letter to the Chief Minister of the state, regarding the prejudiced action of the TN police, asking him to take action against the erring officials.
Highlighting the fact that the investigative agencies have not yet taken the cases involving saffron terrorists, very seriously, TMMK demanded arrest of all the black sheep in the Indian military, because a large number of military personnel had reportedly been indoctrinated into Hindutva terror by Lt. Col. Purohit, the accused in the Malegaon bomb blasts.
The CEC of TMMK also condemned the life sentences given to Dr Binayak Sen, a champion of human rights. It demanded the release of Dr Binayak Sen forthwith.
TMMK expressed its regrets at the sad demise of veteran Human Rights activists K.G. Kannabiran who died on 30th December, 2010.
