French Embassy in Mali attacked, one injured — Ministry

Paris : An explosion in front of the French Embassy in Mali late Wednesday wounded a Malian citizen, French Foreign Ministry said Thursday.

The blast occurred in Bamako, Mali’s capital, and left a Malian citizen with minor injuries, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Christine Fages.

She explained that there was no information about possible motives for the attack or if it was linked with Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.

Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb had kidnapped seven people, including five French citizens, from a mine of the French leading nuclear group of (Areva) and (Satum) company in west Niger.
