Jamaat Islami leader honored for communal harmony in Rajasthan

Jaipur: Former Rajasthan president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Engineer Mohd Saleem has been honored for his excellent work for communal harmony in the state. He got the award at the hands of Uttar Pradesh Governor B. L. Joshi at a program that featured Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot as Chief Guest on 20th July here in Jaipur.

Bhaichara Foundation, a Jaipur based social organisation, headed by well known litterateur, poet and social activist Mr. Ved Vyas, observed Bhaichara Divas (Brotherhood Day) at the Pink City Press Club. On the occasion, the Foundation presented the award to 16 social activists including Engineer Saleem, who is now central secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind.

Other prominent personalities to receive Bhaichara Award included Sarvodaya leader Sawai Singh, lawyer Marudhar Mridul, social activists Ashok Acharya, Durga Shankar Gehlot and Himmat Seth.



On the occasion, the first copy of a weekly, “Lok Yatra” with Mr. Vichar Vyas, son of Mr. Ved Vyas, as its editor, was released by Rajasthan CM Mr. Ashok Gehlot.
