Islamabad : More than five security personnel were reportedly killed in a militants’ attack on their security checkpost Wednesday afternoon in northern Pakistani district, said police.
More than hundred militants from Afghanistan side attacked a security forces checkpost with rockets and arms in Shaltalo district of Upper Dir District, a local police official Muhammad Bahadur Khan told media.
He said the attack was followed by a huge gunfire, which continued for more than an hour before militants fled away. The police officer confirmed five casualties.
However, police sources put the number of death toll to near eight when contacted by KUNA.
