Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh government has sanctioned Rs.20 crore to improve infrastructure in an industrial belt in Solan district, an official said here Sunday.
Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal has sanctioned a special grant of Rs.20 crore for improvement and maintenance of roads in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrial area, said a government spokesperson.
He said the funds would be spent by the Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Development Authority (BBNDA), created to carry out focused development in industrial areas.
To attract more investment, the state has developed a new estate in Davni village under the industrial area.
The government has also acquired land to set up information technology, electronics, textile, food and other units.
To strengthen the power infrastructure, a memorandum of understanding was signed with Gas Authority of India Limited (India) Limited for laying a 65-km pipeline from Rajpura in Punjab to Baddi in the state to supply natural gas to industries.
