Security intensified in Delhi railway stations

New Delhi : Police have enhanced security in railway stations here after a powerful bomb was found in a train at the Guwahati railway station.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Railways and Crime B.S. Gurjar told IANS: “We have enhanced security in railway stations here, deploying more personnel in and around the railway stations.”

The capital is served by three main railway stations, located in New Delhi, Old Delhi and at Nizamuddin in south Delhi.

The Kanchenjunga Express carrying around 1,000 passengers had a miraculous escape Friday after security forces detecting a powerful bomb inside it.

The bomb was in a steel container and concealed in a bag. It was fitted with a timer.
