Malaysian Indian journalist dead

Kuala Lumpur : Ethnic Indian journalist and The Star newspaper’s senior writer Dharmender Singh has died after a heart attack, a media report said.

He passed away Sunday, six days short of his 43rd birthday.

Singh joined The Star in 1992 and served at various desks, including Metro and News. He also served as the bureau chief in Klang for two years from 2007.

Fondly called “Dharm”, Dharmender Singh was the brother of the late Harpajan Singh, who was The Star’s deputy news editor (Asean). Harpajan died in August 1999, the newspaper said Monday.
